About

_-70

I grew up in West Seattle spending my childhood taking annual camping trips to Kalaloch along the Washington Coast, Deception Pass on Whidbey Island, and Nolte State Park on Deep Lake swimming and fishing for trout until the sunset. I thank my parents for introducing me to the great outdoors as a child and creating precious life long memories.

Years later while in the Radiologic Technology program at Bellevue College my good friend Craig McLachlan introduced me to the trail. We spent every weekend hiking the Cascades and needless to say I was hooked. I guess you could call hiking my gateway drug as it lead to other outdoor activities such as backpacking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, snowboarding, road biking, mountain biking, kayaking and whitewater rafting.

Eventually my lovely wife Robin and I put down roots in Spokane, Washington near the Idaho boarder. We have two amazing children and continue to spend time exploring Cascadia and beyond. I am so grateful to be able to share my experiences in the great outdoors with my own children creating memories with them that will last a lifetime.

If you have somehow stumbled across my blog my only hope is to bring awareness to wild places and to hopefully inspire somebody else to spend time in the great outdoors. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about destinations in the Pacific Northwest. See you on the trail!
